I visited Northern Ohio Ducati and Triumph at lunch time today. They agreed to try to fabricate a longer front fender so I didn’t catch as much debris from the road over the nose. I was able to pick up my SV 650 race bike that they tuned on the Dyno, and I dropped off the HyperMotard. I’m not sure if I should be happy when I’m “carpooling” trips to the Ducati dealer or not, but they took it easy on me today.
While I was there, they helped me look at alternative tires that might be the best for our adventure, and I ordered a Dunlop D616 rear tire. If I start my trip on this tire, I will cut it with a tire cutting tool, so there are more grooves in it. At the same time, Carl informed me that Continental has asked where we will travel and on what days. I guess they are willing to overnight a set of the TKC 80’s that I’m dying to have to me. This will be well worth doing, so I will bring the tools to change a tire on the trail.
